Barbon Valley
Barbon Dale, to the east of Dentdale, is a place of spectacular scenery, situated in between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, the valley nestles in the Pennine foothills.
Barbon Beck
Swift flowing, rock strewn Barbon Beck wends through the dale, the beck rises at Weather Ling Hill, and tumbles down Crag Hill, passing southwest down Barbondale to Fell House, where it assumes a westerly course, through the attractive village of Barbon and under an old packhorse bridge before eventually flowing into the River Lune.
There are some good views of the Howgills from the head of the dale. The small village of Barbon, set in a patchwork of fields in the valley, clusters around its church, inn and post office.
