Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre

OS Grid ref:- NY 523239

The Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre is situated in the walled garden and parkland of dramatic Lowther Castle, near Penrith.

The centre exists as a sanctuary for birds of prey and contains over 150 birds, including eagles, hawks, falcons and owls from all around the world. The aim of the centre is to conserve birds of prey through education, breeding and caring for injured and orphaned birds before releasing them to return to the wild.

The birds are flown three times daily, weather permitting. Visitors can have an opportunity to fly a bird.

There is a tearoom, craft shop and gift shop on the site as well as regular courses and lectures.
