Trotters World of Animals
Trotters World of Animals is a small Lakeland zoo which is home to hundreds of
species of animals including endangered species, reptiles and birds of prey. Trotters provides a great day out for all the family, much of the complex is under cover and therefore
the weather need not spoil your visit.
Residents include an Asian fishing cat - a cat that actually likes to swim, the smallest otter in the world, Charlie the Mandrill and the only Canadian Lynx in the United Kingdom. Exotic animals such as ringtailed lemurs, wallabies, rough coated lemurs, red, fallow and sika deer, racoons and the Gibbon family, Brian, Sooty, Joseph, Noel, Robin and a new baby delight the crowds with their antics.
There are daily presentations by an expert reptile handler when visitors can safely handle snakes and lizards, including Monty the Giant Python. Handling animals is actively encouraged at Trotters and special audience participation events held throughout the day.
There are play areas for children, picnic areas where you can take it easy in beautiful surroundings whilst the children enjoy the days activities
Pony and tractor rides are availiable at weekends and during school holidays subject to weather and demand.

Follow the brown tourist signs on the A591 & A66 from the end of Bassenthwaite Lake.
Opening times
10am to 5.30pm daily or until dusk.
Last admission is at 5pm.
