The garden holds superb collections of acers, camellias, azaleas, rhododendrons, rare shrubs, trees, unusual perennials and conifers, as well as expedition plants from worldwide mountainous regions and is well worth a visit

Offering superb views of the panoramic Langdale Pikes, the garden is described as 'a 2-acre plantsman's mountain paradise' and is said to be particularly spectacular in the Autumn. The owner, Professor Robert Haszeldine, is a keen collector of plants, shrubs and trees from mountainous areas of the Far East and Australasia. There are also extensive plantings of spring bulbs, a large selection of alpines and hellebores. Wildlife frequenting the garden includes red squirrels, badgers and a wide variety of birds.
